Do you know how many wonderful musicians that we are blessed to have in this congregation?
All the following areas of music are fully involved in worship @ FIRST. There is always “another chair” available though, so if you are interested, contact Kristen Cameron @ 794-2494.

Handbell Highlights
As the handbell season draws to a close, I would like to thank all of the handbell ringers who have participated this year for their faithfulness and dedication. It’s been a great year!
Special thanks to Mitch Heitritter who marks Jubilee music, orders gloves, keeps us organized with schedules and reminders and can play an entire table of bells single-handedly! Also thanks to Ann Shea and Lesley Hawkinson for substituting for absent ringers.
It is a real privilege to direct the handbells!!! I would like to express my appreciation to the thoughtfulness and generosity of the ringers and their dedication to this vital program of music ministry.
Some Highlights
- Reformation – “Borning Cry” reminded us of God’s presence, especially during the terrible fires.
- December – White Rose Breakfast, Lessons & Carols, AAUW program @ University of Redlands (with 2 newspaper articles featuring our handbell choirs)
- Lent – Jubilee Ringers rang in the Spiritual, “Lord I want to be a Christian” and Chapel Ringers were joined by flute, violin and cello for “Children of the Heavenly Father,” Soup Suppers, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
- Easter – our famous “sardine arrangement*” for “Jesus Christ is Risen Today”! (*Just how many ringers can stand in the front of the sanctuary?)

Spring Choral Concert
I am excited to announce that our annual Spring Choral Concert is approaching! On May 18th we will sing for both services (8:00AM & 10:45AM), a variety of choral music that will take us from Schubert to Amy Grant; from Spiritual music to Malotte’s “The Lord’s Prayer;” and praising the Lord with music by Allen Pote, Tom Fettke, and Natalie Sleeth, featuring Susan Wade and Pastor Ray Wade as soloists. This performance will inspire and uplift us all.
We are enjoying rehearsing for these worship services and cannot wait to share the experience with you. If you are interested in joining the choir, we would be blessed to have you. Everyone is welcome!
We rehearse every Thursday evenings 7:00-8:30 PM. Come and see! COME AND SING!!
Anca Gheorghe
Choral Director
